School Introduction
Over the years UCSD has welcomed more than 30,000 international students to its language programs. Based on a huge campus of over 5 square /km overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the University has a community of some 24,000 students. The University of San Diego is one of the top research universities in the US, and has 8 Nobel Prize winners in its faculty. You will find that its excellent campus facilities – student support services, relaxing natural surroundings come together to make the perfect place to begin your academic studies. There are two periods to choose from. For longer study, the 10-week programs are suggested. For shorter periods, 4-week programs are offered throughout the year (except December).
Ten Week programs – Communication & Culture, Intensive Academic English, Intensive Business English, Intensive TOEFL Preparation, Pre-University Studies, and Intensive Legal English.
Four Week programs – Conversation, Conversation Plus, Business English, Academic English, Medical English.
Design Your Own Programs – these programs enable non-admitted students to attend a full-time program of regular UCSD or UCSD Extension courses, or a combination of English language and UCSD or UCSD Extension courses.
In addition there is a strong internship and certificate programme. Past participants have worked in the US for companies such as IKEA, Sony, Honda etc.
Activities
The language centre organizes an orientation program and regular excursions, such as trips to Sea world, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, Whale watching and conversation classes. While studying at UCSD you can take advantage of all the campus has to offer such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, 20 tennis courts, beach volleyball and basketball courts and soccer fields.

In San Diego you will find one of the best climates in the USA, it is mild year round. A hundred kilometer of beaches, and mountains of over 2,000 meters are all within easy reach. There are hiking trails, museums and many shopping options. The city is also an ideal base from which to explore California and nearby Mexico.
