The Swandean Wimbledon Language School is only 20 minutes from the centre of London by underground or main line train. The new school, Nelson House, is located close to Wimbledon centre, and 10 minutes walk from Wimbledon Broadway and London Transport links. Learn English in Wimbledon and enjoy the experience of learning in this famous and fashionable London suburb.
The school has 11 bright and comfortable classrooms, a modern student lounge with widescreen TV and room to relax, a listening centre and computer room with FREE broadband internet with email access.
The school is friendly and personal. Not only will you learn English, but you will also be able to experience the culture and history of Wimbledon and London.
Activities
CES/Swandean prides itself on having one of the biggest and most enjoyable Social & Cultural programmes. The programme changes every week so you will get a chance to visit many different historic and tourist sights in and around Dublin, Worthing and London. In winter the school has at least 1 activity per day and usually one or two different evening activities per week such as visiting a traditional pub or enjoying an international food evening.
Accommodation
The schools homestays are all visited and checked by our Accommodation Officers and are chosen for their friendliness and the warm welcome that each student is given. Homestays are located close to the schools and to public transport links. You can either choose to share a room with another student or pay a small additional fee to have a single room.
Area Introduction
Wimbledon has three theatres, a multi-screen cinema and many pubs and restaurants to cater for the cosmopolitan and ever changing tastes of London. There is a superb indoor shopping area (aptly named Centre Court), sports facilities including the All England Lawn Tennis Club, a tennis museum and Wimbledon Common: the perfect place to go for a gentle stroll and see one of London’s most famous parks.
