St Giles San Francisco, in front of the turn-around for the Cable Cars in the centre of downtown, has one of the best locations of any San Francisco English language school. All major transport routes stop outside and the college is just two minutes walk from the famous Union Square and opposite the San Francisco Shopping Centre. Having recently moved to a location the school has brand new facilities spread over two floors.
The school has 16 newly-furnished and spacious classrooms with natural light, internet café, language laboratory, student café and recreational lounge. For business students there is a separate platinum training centre with 4 classrooms and business lounge. There are 19 computers available for students’ use, together with additional plug-in points for laptops.
Accommodation
This popular accommodation option is the ideal choice if you want to practise your English outside the classroom and learn about American culture and way of life first hand. Californians are known for their friendliness, hospitality and diversity – all of which is reflected by our hosts. A Residence Club is a type of economy- standard hotel for those staying a month or more. It is often a cheaper option than hotels, and in some cases will provide cooking facilities in the room or meals in a dining room. For students who wish to have independence, there is a host of hotels and residence clubs located in the heart of the city, within a 10-minute walk from the school and excellent shopping, restaurants, theaters, and other attractions.
Social Program
San Francisco is the ideal place to study English and learn about American culture. San Francisco has more restaurants than any other city in the USA, and is home to many theaters, music and dance companies, as well as world famous film festivals. Beyond San Francisco, the Bay Area offers spectacular scenery, as do Marin County, Napa & Sonoma Valley, and the coastal town of Monterey, among other places. The Social Activities Coordinator devises a weekly & monthly program to familiarize you with this city, and its many attractions. Typical activities include visits to discos, films, theaters, and to Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square and Chinatown. Costs for weekday social activities start from $5!
