Regent Bournemouth was established 1956, and is located in two building in Southbourne, Bournemouth.

Opposite the main building the school has a second building which it uses for students who are taking examination or intensive courses. This enables us to provide an excellent academic environment for all students however long their stay at Regent Bournemouth. The school is proud to have maintained a high pass rate in the Cambridge Examinations. Over 2000 students have taken the Cambridge Exam since 1986.

General English courses are operated for 12 months a year from the main building in Southbourne, Bournemouth. Both buildings are within 300 metres of the beach.

All the teachers at Regent Bournemouth are properly qualified and experienced in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The teachers have benefited from special training courses in teaching English and have teaching experience both in the UK and abroad. Additionally, most teachers have university or college degrees. As well as their experience and qualifications, teachers are selected because they are able to create the special atmosphere in the classroom that enables students to feel at ease and learn English effectively and efficiently. Each class has its own main teacher who undertakes the greater part of the work and one or two other teachers who spend a few lessons per week with the group.

Activities

Regular programme for students’ free time is organised throughout the year including:-

  • Weekly video films on the school’s large screen.
  • Darts and table football tournaments at school.
  • Lectures, debates and quizzes at school.
  • Horse riding in the local New Forest.
  • Student parties and beach barbecues.
  • Sports including swimming, basketball, beach volleyball, tennis and golf.
  • Salsa Dancing and Drama Workshops.
  • Pub trips and skittle outings.
  • Ten pin bowling.
  • Sporting competitions against other schools (football and volleyball).

Accommodation

Students can choose between part board and full board homestay accommodation. For students taking part board, lunches are also provided by the family on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week days, snack lunches may be purchased at a reasonable cost from the School canteen.

England has a great cultural heritage and many centres of academic excellence for students who wish to continue their studies after learning the language. England is renowned for great shopping facilities, contemporary music, theatres, sporting events, literature, theme parks and nightlife. The country also has an excellent network of roads and railways – from Bournemouth, for example, you can travel by public transport in a few hours to Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, London, Stratford-on-Avon, Edinburgh, Paris, Amsterdam, etc….
