The two PLI Vancouver campuses are across from each other, one block from famous Robson Street, a 20 minute walk to Stanley Park, and 15 minutes to the beaches. Vancouver is well-known for its natural beauty and attracts many sports-enthusiasts. You will also find plenty of Vancouver, entertainment, shopping, and restaurants. The PLI Vancouver activities schedule includes weekend trips to Whistler, Seattle, Vancouver Island, and the Rocky Mountains.
PLI is well known for its strong academic focus and offers a dynamic selection of programs.
In your classes, you can expect the following:

Teachers are all professionally trained, with university degrees as well as qualifications in teaching English, with many years of experience both at home and overseas. All are native speakers, but many have learned a second language themselves so they are very sensitive to your learning needs.
Premises are new and modern. Each of the large classrooms is fully equipped with textbooks, dictionaries, reference books, tape recorders, and VCRs. The school offers students modern computer labs and the latest software programs, as well as free wireless Internet access in both Toronto and Vancouver.
Large student lounges are a meeting place for our students between PLI building in Torontoclasses and at lunchtime. Enjoy free tea and coffee in our lounges and e-mail home from our computer labs. Check out what’s happening locally in magazines, journals, and daily newspapers in our Student Information Centres, or have a look at the noticeboard for excursions, local entertainment, and current events. Other facilities in the lounges include microwave ovens, refrigerators, and vending machines.
Activities
Organized activities range from evening outings to weekend trips. The program suits all tastes – from the artistically and culturally inclined students to more sports-minded students, and every budget. There’s something for everyone!
Accommodation
Homestays at a Canadian family include:
- A private bedroom, furnished with a desk and study lamp.
- A meal plan to suit your needs (2 or 3 meals per day).
- Shared washroom and access to laundry facilities.
- A friendly atmosphere where you can practice speaking English.
- Accommodation which is within easy travelling distance to the school: 15 – 40 minutes (Zone 1) or 40 – 50 minutes (Zone 2) by public transportation.
- Add-on options include private bathroom, high speed internet access and cable TV in room.
Roomstay is an option for independent students wanting to stay with a Canadian family. You will be provided with a private room in a home with access to cooking, laundry, and shared bathroom facilities. Please note that no meal will be provided by the family and Roomstay placement could be in Zone 1 or Zone 2.
PLI also has a variety of residence and apartment options that are conveniently located and offer more independent living for students.
