School Introduction
NESE is located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, adjacent to Harvard University and just a few minutes walk from the Charles River. Harvard Square a focal point of student activity and one of the most interesting and dynamic student centers in the United States. Only 100 meters from the train and bus station, and 10 minutes from downtown Boston,
the school is surrounded by café’s, restaurants, bookstores and boutiques. University lectures are only a step away, classic and current films are just across the street, theaters and concerts are just around the corner.
NESA teachers and staff are dedicated, experience professionals. NESA has teachers with degrees from Harvard, Yale, Columbia and other top universities. The curriculum is divided in 10 levels, in each level you attend classes from either 9:00 until 3:15 for the full-time program or 9:00 until 12:30 for the half day program. On top of this, student can elect to join after school courses, such as TOEFL preparation, Business English, Legal English, Pronunciation and University preparation. Advanced level students may also be able to take extra courses in their area of interest at Harvard Extension School and at other area colleges.
During your first week at NESE, the school will introduce you to your new life in the USA through its orientation program. To further enhance your contact with American culture, the school regularly invites guest speakers to talk and debate a variety of topics. Topics include American culture, business, science, government and arts.
The school organizes trips to Boston’s museums, theaters and sporting events, as well as to the area’s famous historical sites, universities and international corporations. In addition there are frequent weekend trips, skiing in winter, visit Montreal in Summer, New York in spring and much more.
Accommodation
Throughout the year students can chose to live either with an American family or in a dormitory.

The city of Cambridge is home of two of the worlds finest university’s, Harvard University and MIT. Few other places in the USA provide students with such an exciting blend of culture, tradition, and history in the context of a dynamic lifestyle.Boston is New England’s academic and cultural center. You will discover major museums and outdoor art shows, quiet parks and lively nightlife, world-class orchestra’s, jazz groups, historic sites and high tech films. There are opportunities to attend lectures, films, concerts, plays and sporting events. Cape Cod with its great skiing, ocean sailing and beautiful cape is less than two hours away.
