Malvern House is a language college with three modern buildings right in the heart of London. Founded in 2000, it has become one of the largest language schools in London. Students are divided over three buildings in Piccadilly Centre (lower levels), Trafalgar (intermediate levels) and Bloomsbury (advanced levels).
With some 1700 students and 65 teachers it is one of the largest language schools in London. The school buildings all have cafeteria, libraries and free wireless internet.
The schools size allows it to offer it lower tuition fees, and a very strict and organized study programme.
Students are freer to take holidays during their studies, so class changes are more regular. At 15-18 students per class, class sizes are also larger than average. Most students study for long periods. Using a computer based e-reception system students can book their own holidays and modify their classes, it is for example possible to change from morning to afternoon classes during your studies as your schedule requires it.
A wide range of programmes is available from General English, exam preparation and for advanced level students English for Business, English plus Film and English plus Art. The benefit of having so many students is that even IELTS exam programmes can be taught at different levels, such as pre-IELTS, lower-IELTS, intermediate-IELTS and higher-IELTS.
At advanced levels the school offers pre-masters and university foundation studies, recognized 1 year & 2 year intensive business certificate programmes which can qualify students for 2nd year and even 3rd year entry into UK university business programmes.
Social Programme
With so many students the school has a very active social programme, some school parties have over 450 students attending! There is a drama club, film club and regular trips around the UK, and of course, there is plenty to do in London on a small budget such as visits to museums, parks, galleries, film nights, music and more.
Accommodation
The school can organized homestay accommodation from Zone 1 – 4 , in areas close to underground stations and bus routes. Many of the long term students decide some time after arrival to share accommodation with their new friends as this is often a more budget option.
