Languages International has centres in Auckland and Christchurch – and both are housed in elegant historic buildings right in the heart of the city, yet with beautiful parks just a few steps away. Accommodation
The school recommends staying with one of the selected homestay families. This is the best way to improve your English and learn more about New Zealand and its culture. If you are looking for more independent accommodation, also on offer are student residential accommodation and serviced apartments.
Activities
The school has daily activities and special events which allow students to mix with teachers and other students outside class hours. Every activity is supervised by a teacher or the activities co-ordinator to ensure there is a good mixture of safety and fun. Speaking English is compulsory!
Area Introduction
Christchurch is smaller than Auckland, with a green and elegant city centre. You can take day trips to the beautiful little town of Akaroa, where you can see seals, dolphins and penguins, or to Hanmer Springs for hot pools, jet boating or bungy jumping. You can also travel to the Southern Alps for activities such as white-water rafting and hiking in the summer, skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
Christchurch also has great sandy beaches, where you can go surfing or windsurfing. In the city centre, enjoy sightseeing, eating out, shopping or visiting the clubs and pubs.
