Founded in 1976, HELC is an adult only school with over 25 years experience providing English language teaching to students from all over the world. The school occupies two buildings in a quiet residential area of Hastings. Each building is set in its own large grounds and our self-study, library, listening, computer and internet facilities make HELC an ideal place for motivated adult learners to study.
Small classes (5-10 students) , and strong mix of student nationalities provide a very good learning environment. Accommodation is in the local area and usually within walking distance of the school.
The social programme organizer arranges a varied programme of excursions and activities throughout the year. Activities include pub evenings, local events, parties, local walks, bowling and sports. Day excursions offered over the course of a typical year include London, Canterbury, Brighton and Cambridge.
The school provides general English and intensive programmes. Of special value is its long term academic programme that provides 28+3 lessons per week. Options for the additional hours include a conversation club, grammar workshop, news and current affairs, internet English, listening practice.
