Opened in 1978 the globe school is a small school in the south-east city of Exeter. The school combines an adult and a junior school. The junior school accepts students from 7 years until 18. Comfortable classroom facilities, a kitchen, tv room, study room all make learning at the Globe a relaxing experience.
At the homestay family adult students have their own room. Junior students usually share with a student of a different nationality. All students are offered breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. Families are within a maximum walking distance of 25 minutes and always on a bus route.
Activity programme
In School : cooking sessions, quizzes, board games, billiards, table tennis competitions, parties and barbecues, etc.
Going out : to theatres, cinemas, traditional pubs, concerts, newspapers, radio stations, the Courts, local businesses, breweries, historic monuments, deep-sea fishing, pony trekking, ballooning, on literary trails (Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens), etc.
The intensive English programme is a skills based course (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Using primarily Authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, literature, video, radio and film, it is a particularly interesting and dynamic way of improving your communicative ability as well as your knowledge of British life and culture.

Discovery Programme for students age 11-14 & 15-19
This stimulating course combines Language learning with an enjoyable holiday. he varied social programme gives opportunities to practise English while discovering and enjoying the British culture and way of life.

Explorer Programme for children age 7-10 (summer only)
The primary teachers run very lively and stimulating classes with project work and many hands on activities and games.
