GEOS is in City Mall, the central pedestrian street in Christchurch. Just a few steps from bus stops, great shopping, international restaurants, cafes, and the beautiful River Avon. The college is well equipped with a Self-Access Centre for private study, free Internet facilities and large student common rooms with free tea and coffee with a relaxed atmosphere. There are 3 student rooms, and 26 classrooms in the building, the school offers 7 levels of English: Beginner to Advanced.

There are weekly sports and sightseeing activities, free dance classes every Friday, and fantastic weekend trips to places of interest such as Akaroa, Nelson, and the West Coast.

Some homestay families live within walking or cycling distance to the school, the maximum traveling distance is about 30 minutes by bus.
