School Introduction
Frances King has schools located in both Kensington and Belgravia, both in London’s central Zone 1 with easy access to the underground stations. The schools are within easy reach of each other and are well equipped with study centers and refreshment areas where you can relax and practice your English with other students. There are wireless laptop facilities, and a self-study centre.
The Kensington school is opposite Gloucester Underground station, near the world famous Victoria and Albert Natural History and Science Museums and a short walk away from beautiful Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace. The area has many shops, bars and restaurants and is close the famous shopping areas of Knightsbridge and the Kings’ Road
The Belgravia school is a 3 minute walk away from the Victoria underground station close to Buckingham palace, the home of Queen Elizabeth. The government district and prime ministers residence, 10 Downing Street, are only a short walk away.
A wide variety of English programme is available, from General English to Semester & Academic Year programmes, Work experience programmes and Cambridge examination courses, IELTS and TOEFL exam programmes.
In addition there are holiday programmes, such as “Summer in London” and the Christmas and New Year programme.
Social Programme
Every month there is a new programme of sightseeing, cultural and leisure activities and you can join as many activities as you would like. There are visits to London’s main attractions, such as St. Pauls Cathedral, the Tower of London, Madame Tussaud’s and several museums. There are day trips outside of London to Stonehenge, Oxford, Cambridge and Bath, sports and visits to pubs and restaurants.
Accommodation
Uniquely for schools in London, nearly all accommodation is Zone 1 & 2 based in good areas, close to the underground and mainline train & bus stations. The families are regularly inspected by the home stay staff. There are no more than 3 students in a home stay, and none will speak the same language. The school can also provide students with residence accommodation, or independent flats in central locations in London.
