IELTS Examination Preparation

Universities all over the world use the IELTS examination results to decide if a candidate has enough English to study on an undergraduate or postgraduate course. This 21 hour course is also useful if you require a very high standard of written English for your future studies or career. Our IELTS preparation course gives you 15 hours of general English, 3 hours of writing and academic English practice and 3 hours of intensive speaking and listening. You can take the course at any time during the year, but you should book your examination place a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. If you want to take the examination in July or August, you must apply at least 10 weeks in advance. You need a good Intermediate level of English before you begin this course.

Intensive Combination

With this programme you combine general English group learning with 3 or 6 individual teaching hours per week. During your 15 group hours you will study on the Intensive English programme. The syllabus for your 3 or 6 individual hours will be designed and timetabled according to your specific needs. Individual lessons can, for example, be used to work on particular language skills, special vocabulary and techniques, or examination preparation. If you need to study a specialised subject such as Legal or Medical English, TOEIC or TOEFL examination preparation, please tell us in advance. If you want, you can book additional individual hours.

Intensive English

You will study all aspects of the language for 3 teaching hours per day. When you are not in class you will be able to enjoy London or you can use our library to practise what you have learnt. By the end of your course, your communication and other language skills will have improved and you be much more confident using English. This course does not include any examination preparation but you can convert your Intensive English course to full time

Study Abroad Intensive

This low price 21 hour course is ideal if you want to study in London for a long period of time (minimum 24 weeks). Students who take this programme are often hoping to enter a UK university, are taking a sabbatical, or are planning an extended career break to experience British culture. Studying and living in London over many months will enable you to make enormous progress in your English and consolidate all your language skills. During your Study Year Abroad course you will also be able to prepare for IELTS or another Cambridge exam.

Summer Double Intensive

This very intensive all day summer programme will help you make maximum progress in the shortest time. You will study for 30 teaching hours per week and practise all the language skills and will have a mixture of speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing and grammar, based around carefully chosen complementary textbooks. As the programme is so intensive, we would not recommend you take it for more than 3 weeks. If you want to have a longer course than this, combine Summer Double Intensive English with Super Intensive or Summer Vacation.

Summer Vacation English

This summer course includes many social activities as well as 15 teaching hours per week of general English. You will study all aspects of the language and will gain more confidence in speaking and listening, as well as making new friends and exploring London. The social activities include guided walks, visits to museums and art galleries, sports, parties at the school, tours inside the Houses of Parliament, trips to Madam Tussauds or the Tower of London. day trips outside London, and much much more. Please note that you will have to pay extra entrance fees for some activities.

Super Intensive English

This is our most popular course as it helps you learn more English more quickly, but still have time to enjoy yourself in London. The 21 hours per week include 15 hours of general English. You practice all the language skills with a mixture of speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, vocabulary building, writing and grammar. We use carefully chosen textbooks and modern methodology. In your additional 6 hours you work on different aspects of the language such as speaking and listening, improving your writing skills, advanced communication, or English for the workplace (basic business English for people near the start of their careers). Homework is set and corrected every day and you also have regular private meetings with your teachers to discuss your progress. By the end of your course, you will have improved your general and specialist English, increased your vocabulary and built your confidence.
