To Excel means to be the best and that is why at Excel English we have always worked to the highest standards. Most of our staff have either studied or worked abroad and so we know from personal experience what it is like to be far from home, living in a different culture and needing help and support — Judy Loren, Principal

Excel English has a unique building which was created especially for the school. The architect designed spaces are light and airy with interesting shaped rooms and a very distinct character. The building also has easy access for wheelchair users.

Another unusual feature of Excel English are our gardens which are very large and quiet and include a natural woodland. Many visitors say the school feels like the country, not London as most the rooms look out onto trees and green spaces.

Facilities

Comfortable classrooms with whiteboards, audio and TV/DVD equipment and overhead projectors
A large library and self access centre and a beautiful view of our woodland gardens. The library is well stocked with reading books, DVDs and self access materials. You will be able to borrow library materials to do work at home.
Free WIFI (wireless) internet access so you can connect your laptop from everywhere in the building or gardens.
A cafe where you can meet friends, buy drinks and snacks, have lunch, read newspapers or even do some studying. The cafe opens onto the gardens and the school uses it for parties, quizzes and other social activities.

Your first day at the school

We have to give you a language test on your first day, but we also realize that this is your first day in London and so one of the most important. You will be excited and looking forward to discovering our wonderful city and making new friends. Excel English plans your first day so that you start learning about London and finding out how to enjoy yourself during your time in England.

We give you:

A student pack including your Excel English handbook and bus and underground maps
Basic information about living in London
A guided tour of Muswell Hill so you know where to meet your friends
A sightseeing walk in Central London for your first view of the famous sights.
Your first experience of the London Underground and buses

Social Activities

The Client Services staff is ready to help you at all times. They arrange your enrollment, accommodation and airport meeting service before you arrive and are able to support you in many other ways while you are at the school.

Most of our students arrive in London with a long list of places they want to visit and things they want to do. You will find you make friends, practice your English and learn more about London and England through taking part in the social programme we organize every month.

Area Introduction

Muswell Hill is one of the most attractive residential locations in London, with extensive parks and open spaces. You will also find you have lots to do because of the many shops, bars, pubs and restaurants, cinemas and sports centres within walking distance of Excel English. And if you want tourist London, you are only a few minutes from the centre by public transport.
