It’s located between Nob and Russian Hills in the Polk Street business area, famous for restaurants, shops, cinemas and local entertainment. The school is within walking distance of hotels and residences and close to all public transport.

When full, the San Francisco school has a capacity of 180 students. The minimum age is 16.

Facilities

Lessons take place in one of twelve fully-equipped classrooms. Students also have access to a quiet area for self-study including listening, TV, VCR facilities and a library. All Embassy CES schools have wireless internet access: why not bring your laptop with you?

Internet and email is also available in the computer laboratory, which has laptop connectors too.

To relax, take advantage of the atrium-style student lounge with its ping pong table and kitchen.

Activities

Because of the city’s proximity to places like Yosemite and Las Vegas there are very attractive Social Activities and Tour programmes. The Activities Organiser will arrange a full programme of events for your free time, ensuring that you are never bored.

Area Introduction

San Francisco is one of the most beautiful locations in the United States, with its steep hills and views across the bay. It’s a wonderful city to see by foot or by cable car, offering a cosmopolitan lifestyle with a leisurely pace.

The city can be divided up into several neighbourhoods, the names of which may already be familiar. Pacific Heights, Nob Hill, Haight-Ashbury and Little Italy have all featured in many films and TV programmes. Each area has its own attractions, from famous sights to architectural gems to shops and boutiques.
