The Dominion Christchurch school opened in 1969 and is always warmly welcoming to new students. The average number of students the school is about 150 people, divided into younger students from 12-17, and the adult programmes for those over 18. English is taught in seven different levels.
Both groups have their own curriculum, putting students of a similar age together greatly helps making their learning experience more effectively. Although the school is not small for Christchuch, every class has a relaxed atmosphere.
Students can use the school kitchen to prepare their own food, some snacks, drink tea or coffee. A library, study room, billiard table, piano and free internet use are also available for students to use.
Activities
The school has a busy activity programme, and each weekend and afternoon a wide variety of activities is planned for students to join. These vary from sports, visiting places of interest, and many fun social activities; each giving you a better understanding of the diverse character of New Zealand and allowing you to make new friends from around the world.
