Basil Paterson Edinburgh, founded over 40 years ago, located in the city centre of Edinburgh five minutes walk from the main shopping area of Princes Street. The school is well equipped with an up-to-date Self-Access Centre and a newly refurbished café, serving delicious snacks and hot meals throughout the day; it is also the largest EFL examination centre in Scotland

All teachers are university graduates, and coming from a wide variety of backgrounds the school can offer specialist training in a range of specialist topics such as English Literature, Legal English, Medical English, Military English and etc.

During off-peak months (September-June) excursions are on Monday or Friday afternoons. These include visits to places such as castles, historic monuments, museums, art galleries, local factories and whiskey distilleries. During the summer months, a full social programme is available to students, with activities organized every afternoon, most evenings and at weekends.

The school is especially well known for its Edinburgh festival course which runs during the Edinburgh festival in August and the special Hogmaney Christmas programmes.
