English Teaching Training programmes are generally split into two categories.

Training for native speakers

Cambridge programs such as CELTA (& DELTA) are for native speakers of English who would like to teach English overseas, or to non-native speakers in their own countries.

Refresher courses active Teachers

These programs are for active teachers of English, not necessarily native speakers, providing additional in-service training and new methods.

A new program is the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowlegde Test). This test is aimed at practicing non-native teachers of English. Entry requirements for these courses are usually IELTS 5.0 and higher.
