Cambridge Exam courses
The “Cambridge” set of exams, is short hand for the University of Cambridge ESOL examination. Cambridge ESOL examinations are taken by over 2 million learners in more than 130 countries each year. The exams cover general English, business English, academic English and English for young learners.
- KET (Key English Test): elementary
- PET (Preliminary English Test): intermediate
- FCE (First Certificate in English): upper intermediate
- CAE (Certificate in Advanced English): advanced
- CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English): very advanced
Passing the CAE is sufficient to apply for most University programmes, it is roughly equivalent to IELTS 6.5 – IELTS 7.0. The exams consist of 5 parts (reading, writing, use of English, listening, speaking), each part is worth 20% of the total marks.
